Parenting is a hard and demanding job. It is also a job that you cannot retire from. Even when your children are grown, living on their own and making an income, you still feel a sense of responsibility & a need to dispense advice. We have found that our children are once again excited about our input. I told my husband about the chat I had with our son. My spouse was disappointed that our son would go in to debt for a new car. He thought there were other ways he could spend his funds. I told my spouse that at first I felt the exact same way, but then I remember the first and only new car that I purchased. It was amusing to know that I was driving a car that no one else had driven. A couple of weeks went by before our son drove up to our home in his new car. He chose to purchase a new motor vehicle that is a hybrid. He is getting fantastic gas mileage & the motor vehicle has a nice sporty look and feel to it. He said that the reports are favorable for the car to hold its resale value, & there are enough of the hybrids on the road so most of the problems have been worked through. It is neat to see how proud he is of his aptitude to purchase a new car and save cash at the fuel pumps.
