Iscar is announcing the EFR.. B44 and the MM EFS.. Finishred a revolutionary solid carbide endmill family. The Finishred carbide endmill is a blending of both roughing and finishing endmills in a single tool. Roughing endmills remove material from work pieces more rapidly and effectively than ordinary endmills. Yet, roughing endmills leave grooves on the machined surface. Hence, after using a roughing endmill, a finishing endmill needs to be used in order to obtain a smooth surface finish. This means time-consuming tool change, setup time and essentialness of maintaining two endmill types in the inventory.

Features of the Finishred Endmills:

The EFR.. B44 and the MM EFS.. endmills feature 4 flutes with 45 degree helix, two serrated flutes and two continuous flutes.

The cutting edges of the finishing flutes are radially farther from the tool axis than the cutting edges of the serrated flutes. The finishing flutes eliminate the grooves caused by the roughing flutes, leaving a fine surface finish.

The tool is fully effective and enables running at rough machining parameters, ending in finish surface quality.

The unique tool design lessens vibration at high load applications.
